“I had a lovely time! I want to come back again next year.”

Speak English and the whole world opens up to you...

Your optimal choice for English

At Optima we aim to teach students to use language, not just to perform in the classroom, but also outside in the real world. We strive to give our students the confidence to demonstrate their English skills in any situation. Below is a list of the courses that we offer. For more information please contact us.

Courses

Ideal for younger students (aged 13 - 18 years old) who wish to improve their English without losing school time. Over the period of two weeks, or more if requested, students live with a carefully chosen host family. A well planned syllabus with equal emphasis on listening, speaking and grammar is taught for three hours each weekday morning. The course is complemented by a full social programme of excursions and leisure activities during the afternoon and at weekends. Courses run from mid June to the end of August.

An intensive 15 - 20 hour course of one to one tuition over a minimum of a five day period with a fully qualified and experienced native speaking teacher. Students are tested on their reading, writing and listening skills in the first lesson and a programme is structured to suit the individual’s needs. Excursions can be arranged on request and are priced according to the chosen venue. Students are either placed with a host family, or alternatively if preferred, a hotel or guest house can be arranged. Courses run all year round.

Our Optima Programme offers the opportunity for a structured language course together with a work placement.

We work closely with locally based businesses and organisations which include a Four Star Hotel, a Creative Print and Design Company, a Public Technology Information Centre and a variety of retail outlets and Charities.

Each student will be guaranteed the required hours necessary for their work study plan and will be monitored by a tutor. A Certificate and relevant confirmation documents are provided on completion.

Contact with the participants schools are encouraged and maintained as required for the Alternanza Scuola Lavoro and Studieren mit Berufserfahrung.

For Course Costs apply to your local Agent or by email info@optimaprogrammes.co.uk.

These provide a great opportunity for whole classes to visit England and produce a CLIL project under the supervision of specialist teachers. Previous CLIL projects have centred around historical and modern subject matter on a wide range of project themes. The projects incorporate excursions relevant to the subject of study. Projects are designed to stretch the students’ academic horizons, simultaneously enhancing their grasp of the English language. Over the period of two weeks, or more if requested, students live with a carefully chosen host family. Courses run all year round.
